Since 1985, Studio RTA had been importing office furniture from Indonesia into the US. In
mid-2003, Studio RTA became an independently operated member of the Sauder family
of companies. Sauder is the nation’s sixth largest furniture maker and a leader in the RTA
industry. 85% of Studio RTA’s business is done via EDI transactions with customers such
as Walmart, Best Buy, Fry’s Electronics and Office Depot.
The Situation
As the company grew from $30 million to $110 million in annual revenue and joined the
Sauder family of companies, Studio RTA could not scale in terms of functionality and was
faced with a difficult data corruption problem.
The Solution
Western Computer built a Microsoft Dynamics NAV solution for Studio RTA that gave
the company Full Financials (General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable,
Bank Reconciliation, Budgets, Fixed Assets), Payroll, Human Resources, Supply Chain
Management (Sales Order Processing, Purchase Order Processing, Inventory Control),
Warehouse Management (Location Tracking, Bill of Materials, Production Orders), Agile
Manufacturing, EDI, eShip, and Containerization/Forecasting.
