Program Manager - Microsoft Dynamics BC

The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Manager to lead our tenured Microsoft Dynamics BC practice. In this role, every day will be a little different. From project management to product strategy and team development, you will have the opportunity to drive short- and long-term success for the company and our customers. The ideal person for this role will have experience driving initiatives, ensuring high customer satisfaction on projects, and developing a team with similar goals.


Key Responsibilities:

Practice & Team Management:

  • Identify opportunities to expand and optimize the BC practice that align to organization goals. Implement with the support of upper management.
  • Monitor and react to key metrics for practice health including project backlog, utilization, and employee satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain program roadmaps, timelines, and resource plans to meet project milestones and deadlines.
  • Lead cross-functional teams and foster collaboration across departments to ensure successful program delivery.
  • Report to the executive team/sponsor/steering committee on the progress, business impacts and strategies.
  • Stay up to date on the current capabilities of Dynamics product line and future roadmap changes while analyzing impacts to both our clients as well as the delivery of services via methodology and implementation tools. 
  • Define team needs and assist with recruiting to maintain the highest level of talent.
  • Coach delivery team to uphold the highest level of customer satisfaction by managing scope, time, and cost of all projects. Identify opportunities to expand team skillsets and implement them through external and internal training.
  • Enhance team performance by hosting consistent development discussions and conducting annual performance reviews.
  • Develop strategy with Marketing that keeps pace and alignment with Microsoft’s vision and direction of BC products. Work with the VP of Strategy to identify external solutions that meet our client needs. Work closely with PMO to ensure that proper methodology is being developed, deployed, followed, and updated within the practice.

Project Planning and Execution:

  • Assist project managers and sales teams to develop comprehensive project plans, outlining scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Work with management to assemble project teams and work groups to produce milestones and timelines for the overall program.
  • Facilitate communication by resolving disputes between the customer and Western in a timely manner.
  • Monitor project activities, ensuring adherence to timelines and budget constraints.
  • Identify and mitigate risks to ensure the successful delivery of projects.


Who you are:

An experienced BC user, tenured consultant, or manager who is looking to own a BC practice on pace for significant growth the next few years.

  • 10+ years of experience in the BC field with 3+ years in team management
  • You have experience leading teams and you want to work with the best of them. You value and understand the basics of practice management and profitability, and you seek to optimize in everything you do.
  • You love to share the solution with customers, presenting with confidence and navigating difficult conversations when client desires and ideal systems aren’t aligned.
  • You understand the importance of change management and ensure everything is on point.
  • When issues arise, you are eager to find a solution. You'll resolve them faster than a speeding ERP system, avoiding project disasters or pesky escalations.
  • You have a depth of knowledge in BC that allows you to identify potential system issues, provide guidance and propose immediate solutions.
  • You appreciate frameworks and utilize them to keep our missions on course.
