Your privacy is important to us.
Information Collection, Use, & Sharing
When you consent to our collection of your personal data on our Sites, we are what’s known as the ‘controller’ of the personal data you provide to us.
We are the sole owners of the information collected on our Sites. We only have access to/collect information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone, although we may share it with third parties that are involved in our performance and delivery of the Services.
Usage and Browsing Information Your Devices Transmits. You can visit our Sites without registering or actively submitting personal data to us. If you do not register, general technical user data, such as your device's Internet Protocol (IP) address, operating system and browser type, and the date and time of your visit, may be automatically collected through the use of “cookies” (small files that are stored on your computer by a website to give you a unique identification) or other technologies. Cookies also keep track of the Services you have used, as well as record your preferences and behaviors while on our Sites.
Information You Actively Submit. If you register on our Sites on behalf of a corporate customer or partner to access our support portal (for customers requiring support), or if you sign up to request a demo or webinar, or to download our newsletter, blog, assessment, or whitepaper, you will provide contact information such as your name, email address, phone number, country of origin, job title, and company affiliation. Cookies will also record registration information regarding your login name and password, if you register to access our support portal.
Combination or by Aggregation of Information. We may combine information that your device transmits, information that you actively submit and information that we obtain from third-party sources. Aggregated personal data does not personally identify you or any other user of the Sites (for example, we may aggregate Personal Data to calculate the percentage of our users who have a particular telephone area code or to monitor certain behaviors).
Offline: We collect information from you offline, such as when you attend one of our events, during phone calls with sales representatives, or when you contact a Western Computer representative.
We use your information to operate, evaluate and improve our business, including by (a) developing new products and services and pursuing other business opportunities, (b) enhancing and improving our Services and the Sites, (c) managing our communications, (d) analyzing our Services, (e) identifying usage and behavioral trends on our Sites (such as lead scoring), and (f) determining the effectiveness of our promotional campaigns.
If you provide us with your name and contact information, we will use this information to answer requests from you, communicate with you regarding any Services we are providing to you as well as inform you about new Services (unless and until you opt-out of marketing information). We may also contact you based on the behavioral information we collected as part of our lead scoring practices.
We may also use information derived from cookies and other tracking technologies to determine your interests in particular advertisements and other communications. Please review our Cookies Policy for more information.
We may also use your information as we believe to be necessary or appropriate: (1) under applicable law, including laws outside your country of residence, (2) to comply with legal process, (3) to respond to requests from public and government authorities including public and government authorities outside your country of residence, (4) to enforce our terms and conditions, (5) to protect our operations or those of any of our affiliates, (6) to protect our rights, privacy, safety or property, and/or that of our affiliates, you or others, or (7) to allow us to pursue available remedies or limit the damages that we may sustain.
Where required by law, we obtain your prior opt-in consent at the time of collection for the processing of (i) personal data we collect as a controller pursuant to The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679, (ii) personal information for marketing purposes, (iii) personal information deemed sensitive pursuant to applicable law, or (iv) as otherwise required under applicable law.
You can opt-out and instruct us not to send you marketing communications by e-mail by clicking on the unsubscribe link within the marketing emails you receive from us or by contacting us at email@example.com.
We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to perform the Services and to maintain and operate our Sites. If you are a citizen from the European Union (EU), we may pass your information to one of our partners located in the EU to contact you directly related to your request.
How long will Western Computer retain my data?
We will retain your data for a period of time consistent with the original purpose of collection, including to comply with our legal obligations and agreements, resolve disputes, and enforce applicable agreements.
Your Access To & Control Over Information
You may manage preferences and access rights related to your information or opt out of any future contacts from us at any time by updating your access rights and preferences at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Information Tracking Technologies
Some browsers have a “do not track” feature that lets you tell websites that you do not want to have your online activities tracked. These features are not yet uniform, and our Sites are not currently set up to respond to those signals for tracking on our Sites.
If you provide us with comments, suggestions, recommendations or other feedback pertaining to our Services (collectively “Feedback’), you understand that we may (although we have no obligation to do so) retain, disclose, use, or otherwise commercially exploit that Feedback in connection with any or all of our Services without any compensation or consideration to you.
Children & Minors
The Sites are not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from persons under the age of 13. No one under age 13 may provide any personal information to us or on our Sites.
For EU data subjects: The Sites are not intended for children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from persons under the age of 16 from the EU.
If you are a parent or legal guardian who discovers that your child has provided us with any of the foregoing, you may contact us at email@example.com, and we will promptly delete such information from our files. If you believe we might have any information from or about a child under 13 or 16 (in the EU), please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We attempt to safeguard and protect your personal information from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction, through maintenance and use of reasonable security measures. However, please bear in mind and be aware that unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and the inherent insecure nature of the Internet, among other factors, may potentially compromise the security of your information at any given time. As such, we cannot make any guarantees as to the security of your information.
