STAYING IN THE D365 ECOSYSTEM, EXPANDING CAPABILITIES

"Over the last few years, it became very obvious we were not going to be able to stay on our old system indefinitely. Vendors and customers were increasingly asking us for technical integrations that were really pushing the boundaries of what was possible with NAV 5. When we got serious about finding a new ERP, we noticed most applications in the space had cloud versions or were moving in that direction. So it was a big benefit to Accutech to remain inside the Microsoft ecosystem with Business Central."

Extend Your ERP Investment And Business Intelligence with Power BI For Dynamics NAV

If you're still running Dynamics NAV, Power BI can add real value. Western Computer builds custom Power BI dashboards for NAV clients, connecting and consolidating data across your applications, so decisions don't wait on a report cycle.

  • What is Dynamics NAV?

Dynamics NAV, formerly called Navision, is an on-premises ERP platform Microsoft sold to small and midsized businesses. It covered finance, supply chain, manufacturing, and CRM in one system. Western Computer supports businesses running Dynamics NAV today, and we help customers plan their move to Business Central when they are ready.

  • Is Dynamics NAV still supported by Microsoft?

Not fully. Microsoft has ended mainstream support for all versions of Dynamics NAV, so no new features or design changes are being added. NAV 2017 remains under extended support through January 2027, and NAV 2018, the platform's final release, remains under extended support through January 2028 and continues to receive security updates. Versions older than NAV 2017 are no longer supported by Microsoft.

  • Can I still get support for Dynamics NAV today?

Yes. Western Computer continues to support businesses running Dynamics NAV, including day-to-day troubleshooting, customizations, and integrations, even though Microsoft no longer updates the platform.

  • What replaced Dynamics NAV?

Dynamics 365 Business Central is Microsoft's direct successor to NAV. It carries forward NAV's core functionality and includes built-in AI through Microsoft Copilot. Most businesses run it as a cloud service with automatic updates, though an on-premises option is still available.

  • How do I move from Dynamics NAV to Business Central?

Western Computer runs a structured NAV to Business Central migration process, starting with a full customization and integration inventory. If you are ready to make the move, our NAV to Business Central migration services walk you through the full process, from planning through go-live.
