Power BI and Tableau are both business intelligence platforms, but they serve different environments. Power BI Desktop is free to download and use for building and publishing reports. Power BI Pro, which allows sharing and collaboration, is $14 per user per month. Power BI Premium Per User, which adds advanced AI features, larger dataset capacity, and paginated reports, is $24 per user per month. Power BI Premium Per Capacity is available for enterprise deployments with very large datasets or high user volumes. Many Microsoft 365 and Dynamics 365 licenses already include Power BI Pro. Check your existing licensing before purchasing standalone Power BI licenses, as you may already have access.
